Celebrate Women in Jazz with the Alex Sjobeck Trio, featuring pianist and composer Alex Sjobeck—whose album Pictures in Time was on the GRAMMY Awards Nominating Ballot and who has composed for acclaimed films including Silhouette and Butter Lover (13M+ YouTube views). Joining her are Los Angeles-based bassist Sophia Augustine, drummer and educator Jackie Rush, and special guest Dr. Derek Ganong, trumpet virtuoso and Boise State Director of Jazz Studies. The evening opens with the Gene Harris All Stars, an award-winning high school jazz ensemble recognized with the 2025 Boise Mayor’s Award for Excellence in Education.
